Deanne Walsh

After completing her B.A. Dance degree from the University of Calgary, Deanne performed for eight seasons with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks as a full-time company member. She is a performer and instructor in a wide variety of styles including Jazz, West African and Contemporary, and her choreography has appeared widely across Canada. In recent years Deanne has held roles such as the Artistic Director of Alberta Dance Theatre for Young People, Sessional Instructor at the University of Calgary in the School of Creative & Performing Arts and the Faculty of Kinesiology, was a founding member of DSW’s Dance Action Group and acted as a collaborative member of ReLoCate collective. Deanne is an instructor all around Calgary; including the School of Alberta Ballet and for the School of Decidedly Jazz, the Professional Training Program at DJD and the DJD Company. Deanne is currently a full-time teacher with the Calgary Board of Education, while continuing to pursue additional professional and artistic adventures.
