Born and raised in Calgary, Evelyn started dancing at the young age of 2. She was instantly captured my the artistry of dance and decided she wanted to do it forever, her first real dream job being to open up her own dance studio to share her love with others. She has been trained in multiple styles of dance including Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Ballet. Evelyn has successfully completed many major exams, some of those including ADAPT and RAD. She was also the 2021/22 recipient of the Bree Eriksen Award. For 12 years Evelyn participated in competitions around Canada. When she came to Free House she knew that teaching was what she wanted to do. Evelyn has had the wonderful opportunity to perform in Calgarys CBII company, a branch of Corps Bara dance theatre. She has been involved with the DOS Performance Division, dancing along side peers as well as choreographing and assisting. When she is not dancing or at the studio (which is rare) she can be found reading or hanging out with her family. Evelyn is studying to complete her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the University of Calgary. She is very excited to see where her teaching journey will take her.
