Liisa has been dancing since she 5 years old and started with tap and hip hop. When she was 12, she got to see Lord of the Dance in Las Vegas, and decided she wanted to expand her dance career. She went on to take ballet, jazz, and contemporary. As a young adult she started taking belly dancing classes with her friend Catarina of Shioki Belly dancing. By the age of 20, she started Bahiti belly dance in Penticton, BC, where she had a full adult and teen performance troupe. Her troupe performed all through the Okanagan at different festivals and community events, with her favourite performances being Rare Earth music festival where she got to perform on stage with Dehli2Dublin and dancing with Belly Dance Superstars in Kelowna. From 2008 to 2013, she trained with Belly Dance Superstars, middle eastern drumming groups, Bollywood dancers and along side many other local belly dancers. In 2014, Liisa moved to Calgary where she met Cassandra and Joan Marie who started up Kor Danceworks, where she began teaching recreational adult belly dancing classes. In 2015 she began teaching with Puddle of Mud productions where she teaches recreational children’s dance classes such as ballet, tap, hip hop, and jazz. She has performed belly dancing occasionally at restaurants and special events. Over the years she has also taught line dancing with Puddle of Mud Productions.
