Step Along to Toe-Tapping Tunes

Tap is an exciting style of dance with a rich history dating back over a century that incorporates shoes equipped with metal “taps” to create percussive sounds along with rhythmic footwork.


Tap class always begins with a warmup stretch to prepare the muscles of the legs and feet. Students then practice a series of basic tap steps, adding more difficult combinations and speed as they become more proficient. Create rhythm and sound, explore syncopation, and feel the music through your feet. Tap dance is a vigourous form of dance that builds aerobic fitness and muscle control.
